Cat's Meow Village™ Custom - "Keith House" - Manheim, PA
Historical fact on the reverse side of this Cat's Meow Village™ Custom:
This Colonial-era German house could date back to the 1762 origin of Manheim. The Keith House, one of Manheim's oldest houses, was named for one of the first families to reside in it. Weatherboards or clapboards (German siding) covered this two-story log home, including the typical kitchen, living room and bedroom.
The original property, on Main and Colebrook Streets, was purchased and the residence was donated to the Manheim Historical Society. In 1995, the Historical Society moved this house to East High Street next to another rescued home, the Fasig House. The newly renovated Keath House will be a museum.
